The office of Instructional Design and Technology (IDT) is pleased to announce our new consolidated training website. Through these resources, faculty will be able to find answers and support right when they need them.
- FaST: Our “Faculty Strategic Toolbox,” or FaST program provides the resources faculty need to teach themselves how to build online courses. The resources are available on-demand, and are designed to be easily absorbed in a few minutes. In addition to basic training, the FaST materials support ongoing online teaching needs. We also have FaST Accessibility, an area supporting ADA compliance in online resources.
- Training: Need some specific training questions answered? This is your area. Not only are there dozens of short training videos, you can request that we create a video. Don’t see what you need? Ask us, and we’ll create it for you.
- Blog and Podcast: In our blog and weekly podcast, you will hear the experiences of faculty and our instructional design team as we work through real problems and find practical solutions that work in Blackboard and in online classes.
In addition to these support areas, IDT is now hosting the Faculty Development website. Faculty Development Fellow Dr. Gery Markova provides information and resources such as the new syllabus templates, outcome/objective writing guidance, and upcoming events.
Over the next several months, you can expect more from IDT. We will be expanding our training to include online pedagogy support, and we will be adding additional offices and other campus services to the website. As of today we have over 130 pages of training and support content, and we are growing. Welcome to our site, and make yourself at home.
