The Faculty Resource Repository is one of the newest tools available to online faculty at Wichita State University. This area provides training, tools, and resource information for online faculty members. Below, we’ve outlined some of the most important areas available to you!
On the left-hand navigation bar, you’ll see a menu button for “Video Tutorials.” Over the last year, your IDT Team has been hard at work developing a series of Instructor and Student videos that answer FAQs about Blackboard and other learning software. As you’ll see throughout this Rapid Start program, these videos are meant to be a resource for you and will show you the step-by-step processes needed to answer your questions. If you find that your students have any questions about utilizing tools in Blackboard, feel free to embed any of these videos into your courses!

Flying Desk Training
Starting in Spring 2016, your IDT team will now offer a series of “Flying Desk Trainings.” If you are interested in receiving some face-to-face Blackboard training for yourself, a small group, or your department, we will come directly to you to deliver those trainings. To schedule an appointment with us or see the trainings we have available to you, select the “Schedule Training” menu button on the left-hand navigation bar in the Faculty Resource Repository. There, you’ll find our application for Flying Desk training! You may either fill out one of those using Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat and submit it to the same area in the Faculty Resource Repository, or print off the form and send it to Box 57 via Campus Mail.
This glossary of Blackboard Terms briefly explains the tools available to you in Blackboard. The glossary also contains some of the basic functions and provides you with a brief definition of those functions. This is a great resource for quick reference.
Policy & Procedure Manuals
Under the “Policy Manuals” menu button on the left-hand navigation bar you will find manuals created by your IDT team. These manuals contain most of the required language online courses must contain (language requirements will be explained in more detail in steps 3 & 4 of your Rapid Start program). These manuals are available for you to download and import into your course. You may also contact your IDT team and we will import these manuals for you.
