Wow! The last two weeks have been an absolute whirlwind. Instructional Design and Technology has been hard at work on our “Stop the World” project for the Criminal Justice department. Over the past two weeks, we have created, redesigned, and edited more than twenty courses in both the Criminal Justice BA and MA programs. At the same time, we’ve created sixty-four video tutorials for Wichita State faculty and staff. Our hope is that these videos will provide answers to frequently asked questions about Blackboard, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and YouTube. Check out this sample:
It’s been so rewarding to work on this project alongside the team. We’ve gone through quite a few changes since June of this year, and this is our first large group project. Three of us (Taylor, Jay, and I) are still new to the team. Alongside new faces, Carolyn, our former Senior Instructional Designer, was promoted to Manager of Instructional Design and Technology (yay!). Even after all of these changes, there is still an empty space left for another Instructional Designer. In the next couple of months, you should look forward to seeing a new face around the office and the blog.
Reflecting back on the last two weeks, it’s pretty incredible to see how well we’ve worked as a team to accomplish such a daunting task. Two weeks ago, our walls were covered in tasks and to-dos. Slowly but surely, items were crossed off the list, and our walls look bare. It’s truly a testament to our work ethic and talents. I feel incredibly lucky to work with such a great group of people and look forward to future projects that require our collaboration.
Here’s to IDT!
